Explain the challenges which the European settlers faced in Kenya during the colonial period.

- Lack of adequate invest in farming forcing the colonial government to provide them with loans to enable them do farming.
- Poor transport and communication network made it difficult for them to transport their agricultural products from their farms to the markets.
- Problem of marketing of their produce since there was no local market for cash crops. The colonial government established cooperative societies to assist in marketing e.g.
K.C.C., K.T.D.A, and KPCU etc.
- Fluctuation of prices in the world market especially after the first and second world wars.
