Describe the political contributions of Oginga Odinga in Kenya during the pre-colonial period.

- In 1948, during KAUs meeting in Kisumu addressed by Jomo Kenyatta, Oginga Odinga urged the Luo to join KAU which became a mass political party of Kenyans.
- Between 1947, and 1949 Oginga Odinga was elected as a member of the central Nyanza district council.
- In 1957, he was elected to Legco representing central Nyanza, after the Lennox Boyd constitutional amendments.
- ln 1958, Oginga Odinga joined the other seven members of Legco to form the African Elected
Members Organization (AEMO). He became the chairman of AEMO.
