-A Kenyan citizen by birth. Not have served for more than 2 consecutive terms as president.

-Abide by the requirements of chapter 6 of the constitution on integrity.
-Must be a registered voter.
-Must be qualified to stand for an election as a member of parliament/ meet the moral, educational and ethical issues.
