- The axon is enclosed by a myelin sheath that insulate the axon and prevent loss of impulse.
- Presence of schwann cell that secretes the myelin sheath
- Myelin sheath has nodes of Ranvier to propagate the nerve impulse and speed up the transmission of the impulse.
