Describe the formation of fold mountains according to the convectional current theory.

- When convectional current in the upper mantle move horizontally towards each other, they
cause a frictional drag on the oceanic crust and hence continental crustal rocks.
- The drag causes the continents to move towards each other.
- In the process, the sediments in the ocean between the continents are squeezed into folds thus forming fold mountains
